Beacon Wine Company, Inc.

Thank you for visiting the site of Beacon Wine Company, Inc., importer of Spain's most marketable wines. I have been searching for Spain's finest wine values for over 25 years. I am among a dozen or so pioneers who brought Spanish wines from outside Rioja to the U.S. in the 1980s.

I started in 1981 as a Massachusetts importer and distributor. In the mid 1980s distributors started to specialize in importing and marketing wines from the lesser known wine regions around the world. I thought this would give us a competitive edge. It was slow going at first, but in time my wines met with an enthusiastic reception. 

In the early 1990s I started distributing my brands to wholesalers outside Massachusetts.  In 1995 I moved my operation to San Francisco.

I currently act as my own distributor in California and as a supplier to distributors in some 20 other states. With the aim of focusing on my key brands, I have decided not to expand my portfolio short term but rather to try to expand the number of active distributors nationwide.
